Sunday School
We provide a fun, safe, and encouraging environment for families with young children. One of our main values at Trinity is to place a strong emphasis on children building a strong spiritual and biblical foundation as they grow in their Christian faith. Sunday School begins at age 5 and continues on through Grade 5. We gather every Sunday at 9:30 am.
Confirmation
The learning of God's Word is a life-long activity. It is to begin in the home, as fathers and mothers read the stories of the Bible with their children, pray with them, and discuss everyday problems with reference to the Word of God.
In order to assist parents in their God-given duty, Trinity Lutheran Church provides weekly classes in the Catechism (Ten Commandments, Apostle’s Creed, Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, Confession and Absolution, and the Lord’s Supper). Starting in sixth grade, students learn to confess the faith clearly according to God’s Word and in the beautiful and timeless summaries of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. The goal of Catechism class is Confirmation, where the student confesses the faith before the congregation and is welcomed to receive the Lord’s body and blood in Holy Communion.
Youth Group
Fellowship, fun, and growth aimed at equipping our teens to handle the pressures of everyday life. Our youth group meets for fellowship events emphasizing service to the community and learning about Jesus in a safe and comfortable environment. As the world continues to draw God’s people away from the Church, we want to draw them in. Youth are invited to come —and bring a friend— for a night of fun, faith, and fellowship!
Young Adults
Our young adult group is targeted for people who have graduated from high school and are getting established in their studies, careers, or are taking some time to determine their next steps. This is a great group for people who are seeking a faith-based community with other young people.
Women’s Ministry
Trinity provides opportunities for women to come together to study God’s Word, fellowship and encourage one another. Lutheran Women’s Missionary League-Canada’s mission is to equip, motivate, and encourage women to grow in God’s Word, serve God’s people, and share God’s Son. To accomplish this mission, we are involved in the study of God’s word, mission service projects, and mission grant projects. Our motivation comes from the love God has shown us and a desire to share the message of the Gospel with others.
Missions
The mission of the Church is the Great Commission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Notice the words “all nations” and “go”. And so, we go. It is part of every Christian’s mission to support local and foreign missions and everything in between. Part of our mission here at Trinity is to spread the news of God’s love to all his children. Each summer, we gather, encourage, and equip a team to head to Northern B.C., to share the love of Christ with the people of Gingolx, leading a Vacation Bible School as well as other activities during the week. We are blessed that they have invited us into their community and into their lives.
